Why Is It Important To Write Now?

I could quote many famous authors and notable personalities on the importance of writing.

Every quote I would find would contain the most general truth.

The universal relatability of them all is what segregates them from relevance.

We are not asking about why writing is of historical importance, not to subtract from that truth.

What we are asking is why, in this unprecedented time, is writing important?

Why is it important to document the movements, ambitions, emotions, hopes, and inspirations of womankind now?

Is it because we are on the cusp of a continuous standstill repetition as if we don’t know any better? Is it because we are more separated and far less equal in a way more pronounced than possibly any other moment in my lifetime as a late Gen X adult?

Is it because ignorance seems to be winning?

Is it because there are too many people talking at the same time?

I write to graduate coming generations of my family from wasting time running this red queens race that life seems to be.

I write to tell the story that would otherwise be ignored and go unknown.

I write for the sake of purpose and legacy.

I write now because tomorrow isn’t promised and

with the way this life is going, who knows?

I write to make it easy

For my descendants to recollect and recall and

hold a solid grasp onto the knowledge that I’ll

leave behind for them to be able to build on.
